Mandan Scout Camp & Training Center
Santa Fe Trail Council has a camp property on Ford County Lake about seven miles NE of Dodge City. The camp has facilities to accommodate 200 persons for day or weekend events. The camp is used for activities or training course throughout the year. The camp has a dining hall that seats 150 people along with a kitchen. The Mandan lodge has overnight accommodations for 64 people and two meeting rooms. There is a camp restroom and shower building along with several program areas. There are six campsites for tent camping.
Spanish Peaks Scout Ranch - SPSR
Santa Fe Trail Council provides a premier outdoor experience at Spanish Peaks Scout Ranch which is a challenging and enjoyable outdoor experience which develops self-confidence and character.
The Council Executive Board and officers are committed to teaching the youth of southwest Kansas the values of the Boy Scout Oath and Law. The programs of the Boy Scouts of America instill values in youth through weekly Scout meetings, community service projects and leadership training opportunities. Program outcomes are measured through the National Boy Scouts of American Journey to Excellence standards that is reviewed monthly by the Council Executive Board.
These measurements are membership, financial sustainability, rank advancement, camp attendance, and community service. The outcome for the new council service center is the council will be able to serve more youth and adults with larger meeting spaces for training and event activities.
