Cub Scout Pack 101

Website!

Click here to sign up your unit!

This is the demo website for Cub Scout Units in Santa Fe Trail Council. What we have here is basically a website that is ready to use for your Cub Scout Unit. The only part you have to decide is what you want on this page right here, the opening page. At this time, a basic page will be made with your unit number, sponsor, and location. You, the Cub Scout unit will take it from there.

There is training available in how to use your new website. Training sessions will be announced on your pack calendar and held at the Garden City Community College Computer Lab.

What is available on this website?

Announcements. Ok, lets not break into the song! This is where you and your fellow den leaders can post announcements about future events and meetings. This is a great way to keep all you parents and leaders informed as to what is happening when and how. Go ahead and try it out. The username is "demo" and the password is "demouser".

Calendar. This is your online pack calendar for displaying all the events your pack can attend or is planning. This calendar will show all Council Cub Scout events, Training dates, your Pack events, and Den meetings. Each calendar will have the current month displayed with each day that has a scheduled event in color. Moving your mouse over the date will bring up a little pop-up telling the user what is planned for that day. Then under the month is buttons to move the calendar forward or backward. And don't worry, these pop-ups are immune to popup blockers.

Under the monthly calendar is a more detailed description of the next 10 pack or den events. Thus the reader has the pack's current itinerary right in front of them and can scroll through the months to see what is coming up. No more wondering if everyone has got the information, it is available to them 24/7.

Unit Email. Each unit will get an email address for the leadership to share. The email is set up to forward to select leaders so parents can request more information about upcoming events and meetings.

Access to a host of helpful information! Your unit will have access to direct links to Council and National forms, safety information and a forum to ask specific help from many experienced leaders. No more guessing as to what is the safe Scouting way, you have it all right at your finger tips.

Sign up today and your unit could have a website tomorrow!
